And since there are so many attempts to try to tie Obama to FDR, here is also a link to FDR's famous speech in 1932. If you read both, the contrast is striking. FDR used his speech to lay out the specifics of the New Deal to Americans. In doing so, he created a mandate for what he wanted to do once he took office.
